Cyclone Lighting Introduces Oblo Luminaire
A contemporary lantern luminaire with a mixed optical system that combines performance and visual comfort
Montreal, QC, August 31, 2026– Cyclone Lighting (www.cyclonelighting.com), an established leader in the manufacture of outdoor luminaires, today announced that it has released Oblo, a new luminaire that combines a contemporary lantern expression with a patent-pending mixed optical system. Designed for outdoor environments ranging from paths and plazas to streets and main streets, Oblo brings performance and visual comfort into one cohesive architectural solution.
Oblo is defined by a distinctive geometric form shaped through a square-to-round transition, softened edges, a central opening, and slender arms. The result is a clear visual identity that feels both architectural and refined.
The luminaire can be specified with the comfort optic only, the performance optic only, or it can be configured with patent-pending dual optic technology. In this configuration, the dual optic combines comfort and performance in one distinct lighting system, with a factory-set ratio that helps tune the light to the needs of the environment while preserving the integrity of the overall design.
The comfort optic creates a softer, more welcoming expression of light for pedestrian environments, while the performance optic is dedicated to roadway and area lighting applications. Together, they create a layered lighting experience that addresses both visual comfort and photometric performance within a single luminaire.
Oblo offers a range of distributions and performance packages to suit different outdoor conditions. More than 14 optical distributions are available. The Saturn ring option provides P05–P30 distributions with outputs from 1,000 to 4,000 lumens. The Orion performance-optic extends from P05–P70 with 2,500 to 10,000 lumens. The dual-optic configuration delivers P05–P60 distributions with outputs from 2,600 to 9,600 lumens using a factory-set ratio. Oblo is intended for mounting heights of 12 to 20 feet and is rated IP66. This luminaire is also 3G vibration certified.
Oblo is also designed for ease of maintenance. Hidden component access through a top opening keeps service discreet, while a small service door and a push-button base with thumbscrew provide direct driver access without compromising the luminaire’s form.
The luminaire is available in a range of standard and complementary colors, custom RAL matches, and special wood finishes. Smooth and textured finishes are also available.
